Faith Identity

Lovett welcomes, celebrates, and honors 学生 of all different 信仰s and backgrounds. As an inclusively Christian school, we are a community rooted in love and belonging for all, with a profound respect for diversity, service to others, and moral awareness. We share the knowledge that we are richer given the unique and individual identities within our Lion family. We expect our graduates to be people of honor and 信仰, striving to do what is right at all times.

History of Faith at Lovett

With her retirement in 1954, our founder, Eva Edwards Lovett, entered the School into a formal partnership with The Cathedral of St. Philip, clarifying a commitment to fostering spiritual growth in our community. While no longer formally affiliated with the Episcopal Church, Lovett honors our Episcopal heritage and continues to share in its values and perspective. Lovett is a community rooted in 信仰, love, and belonging. We come together regularly for prayer, 反射, and celebration, and we seek to model God’s love and grace. We honor the dignity of all people because we believe that everyone is made in the image of a loving God.

牧师. Steve Allen speaking during Chapel service

"During my 25 years as chaplain at The Lovett School, I have been blessed to be a part of a community that provides 学生 the opportunity to freely explore their beliefs, 问题, convictions and doubts. In chapel services, in the classroom, in service, and in personal conversations, I have witnessed 学生 learn more about themselves and each other. Together we have worked to become an evermore compassionate, empathetic, and loving community."
